Whilst the focus is on critical service skills including glassware and service equipment, as well as selecting and serving wines, and cellar management, this qualification incorporates the essentials of viticulture and winemaking, different grape varieties, how to assess wine professionally, the globalisation of the drink and its many different styles including sparkling and sweet wines, port and sherry as well as alternative bottlings, wine maturation, and of course food alchemy.

Designed with you in mind

This is an advanced level qualification for individuals in the hospitality industry or entering the business wanting to obtain wine certification. You will acquaint with the main principles of sommellerie (wine service), how to correctly care for and handle wine service equipment so as to store and serve wine effectively with the scope of increasing customer satisfaction. The qualification is self-paced but usually takes between 1 to 3 months to complete.
